Advantages of rigid cardboard boxes

There are many different types of packaging and boxes, and Guddenberg's product range offers a particular variety. But how are rigid cardboard boxes produced and what are their advantages?

High material strength

Advantages of rigid cardboard boxes

From a grammage of approx. 1000 g/m2, the material thickness is measured in millimeters. For example, stable packaging at Guddenberg is mostly made from 2mm bookbinding cardboard, i.e. from very solid basic materials. A good orientation offers the impression of a stable book cover.

Over the base material comes an additional layer of a nice cover material. They can have different textures and colours. For example, freely printable, smooth materials, but also structural materials with a wide variety of haptics can be processed.

Precise production and sharp-edged results

Advantages of rigid cardboard boxes

Perfectly coordinated machines and tools, as well as manual pre- and post-processing, produce packaging that has high standards in terms of precision and processing quality.

Especially in the case of high-quality products, the value is once again highlighted and embodied by the packaging.

Special advantages also exist in the free choice of format; in large formats, the packaging retains its usual stability and offers the recipient an interesting secondary benefit and use.

Flexible possibilities also exist in the design of the interior. The material thickness, for example, makes it possible to attach holders, pockets, or compartments in the lid.

Rigid boxes rarely end up in the trash

Advantages of rigid cardboard boxes

Above all, sustainability also means longevity. While 90% of all packaging ends up in the trash immediately after unpacking, stable premium cardboard boxes impress with their durability.

Thus, they often serve as a permanent way to store the product, or stand as pretty packaging for all sorts of things on the domestic shelf. Individually designed, sturdy packaging often spreads brand names and messages for decades.
